Since the launch of Walailak University’s electric transportation policy in May 2024, Stallions has played a role in transforming campus travel. This policy requires all new students to use electric vehicles to reduce carbon emissions and noise pollution within the university.

On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the Senanikom 2 Community Sports Ground, the National Health Security Office (NHSO) joined forces with Zendai Foundation, Krungthep Thanakom Company Limited, STL Group Holdings Company Limited (Stallions), AI SmartWIN Company Limited (SmartWIN App), and We Win Wisdom Company Limited (We Win Club) to conduct free health and dental check-ups for public motorcycle taxi drivers across all 50 districts.

The project, running from July 23-24, 2024, aims to enhance the quality of life for motorcycle taxi riders throughout Bangkok. It includes general health screenings, chest X-rays, dental services, and basic health education, all provided free of charge. The initiative promotes better health and living standards for riders who spend most of their time on the road.

In addition to health checks and basic health education, Thai motorcycle manufacturer “Stallions” and the Thai motorcycle taxi app “SmartWIN” will provide training on the SmartWIN mobile application technology, helping riders increase their income, create jobs, and enhance their careers.

Executives from AI SmartWIN emphasized that the SmartWIN app was developed to improve the image and income of public motorcycle taxi riders while facilitating easier access to services for passengers at fair prices set by the Department of Transportation. The app also ensures service quality and aims to improve the quality of life for riders, recognizing their critical role in society. The initiative will also link with the NHSO for home medication delivery and expand services to include package delivery and taxi calls in the future, with life and accident insurance for riders to further enhance their quality of life.

In this project, Stallions introduces yellow-plate registered electric motorcycles for public motorcycle taxi riders to test drive, offering an alternative for income generation, energy cost reduction, and knowledge of sustainable transportation technology.

Mr. Thirachet Lapjaturapit, CEO of STL Group Holdings Company Limited (Stallions), stated that air pollution is a significant threat to health and the climate, referencing World Health Organization (WHO) data showing it affects approximately 2.4 billion people and causes 7 million premature deaths annually. On Friday, July 19, 2024, the new WEDA by Stallions EV showroom was officially opened at Walailak University. The inauguration was graced by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jeerakiat Apibunyopas, Director of the Property Management Center at Walailak University. This center will provide services to students and staff, including the purchase, rental, and after-sales services for electric motorcycles and e-bicycles, along with the “HERO Motion” electric motorcycle charging station, aligning with the university’s green campus policy

Mr. Nattanan Onyangyun, Chief Executive Officer of the Weda Group, welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jeerakiat Apibunyopas and provided insights into the green campus policy of Walailak University during the opening ceremony.

Mr. Kantinan Wichiansantikoon, Project Manager of HERO Motion charging station from STL Group Holdings Co., Ltd., explained that HERO Motion is a comprehensive service platform for two-wheelers, making it easier for motorcycle enthusiasts to access rentals, purchases, and convenient battery charging for electric motorcycles in the future. HERO Motion, a startup under STL Group Holdings Company Limited, aims to create a world where every ride accelerates progress towards a sustainable, pollution-free society. At 4:00 PM, participants of the “WUEV” electric motorcycle caravan gathered to prepare for the journey starting from the WEDA by Stallions EV Service Center at Walailak University. The caravan headed to Sopan Titharam Temple (Wat Ra) at Haad Ra, Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat, to join the third “Ma Nakhon Non Wat” event. This activity promotes an alcohol- and drug-free environment, fostering community values, music, and arts for all ages. It serves as a learning hub to enrich experiences and preserve Thai culture. A group of student volunteers from Walailak University also participated, providing support for safety and first aid throughout the event.

Traffic coordination and convoy guidance were supported by the Traffic Police Division of the Tha Sala Police Station, ensuring convenience and safety for all participants, allowing the caravan to reach its destination securely.

On Friday, December 22, 2023, at the Chulalongkorn University’s Chalermprakiat Building, the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology, Chulalongkorn University, STL Group Holdings Company Limited (Stallions), and Swap & Go Co., Ltd., under the support of the SOLUTIONSPlus fund (https://solutionsplus.eu/) through the Urban Electric Mobility Initiative (UEMI)

organized the Kick-off event for the Replication Battery-Swapping Electric Motorcycle Taxis project in the Samyan District of Bangkok. The project aims to transition to electric vehicles, promote the use of electric motorcycles as public taxis, reduce air pollution, minimize noise pollution, and enhance the quality of urban life.

Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Director of the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), stated that in the current crisis of air pollution, particularly fine particulate matter PM2.5, and the climate variability due to global warming issues, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) through ENTEC, with support from the SOLUTIONSPlus fund (https://solutionsplus.eu/) via the Urban Electric Mobility Initiative (UEMI), in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology, Chulalongkorn University, STL Group Holdings Company Limited (Stallions), and Swap & Go Co., Ltd., has actively promoted the expansion of electric motorcycles among public taxi drivers in the congested traffic area of Samyan. This initiative aims to provide an alternative for transitioning from private car use to a more efficient public transportation system.

Mr. Akkanut Wantanasombut, a researcher at the Asian Institute of Technology, mentioned that the factors influencing motorcycle taxi drivers, known as “Phiwins,” to shift to using electric motorcycles instead of conventional fuel-powered ones go beyond price support and financing. It was found that drivers still express concerns about expenses, vehicle performance, and the risks associated with transitioning to electric motorcycles. Therefore, there’s a necessity to develop an environmentally suitable and compatible system, requiring collaboration from various sectors. This includes establishing battery standards for uniformity across the system, increasing the prevalence of battery swapping stations, setting standards for electric motorcycles used for passenger transport, and considering the economic challenges faced by the drivers in urban areas. In this project, a comprehensive approach is taken, studying the social, economic, and environmental aspects to propose the most suitable solution for facilitating a fair transition. This initiative aims to encourage over 80,000 drivers in Bangkok and its suburbs to consider switching to electric scooters.

Mrs. Areerat Sriprathai, Chairperson of the Board of Directors at The Stallion Company Limited (representing STL Group Holdings Company Limited), emphasized that electric motorcycles are environmentally friendly vehicles that can address air pollution and the global warming crisis. However, the high value of crucial components, especially batteries relying on imported raw materials, results in a higher overall cost compared to conventional fuel-powered motorcycles. This project is considered a favorable opportunity as it receives additional government support. The company actively participates by presenting electric motorcycle models that have undergone testing in collaboration with the National Energy Technology Center, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, and TAILG, the third-ranking electric motorcycle brand in China. The project also includes a post-sales service program to ensure the success of electric motorcycle usage throughout the project.

Ms. Arweemas Sirisaengtaksin, the Managing Director of Swap & Go Co., Ltd., emphasized that Swap & Go is a battery-swapping platform for electric motorcycles, focusing on building a network to enhance the convenience of using electric motorcycles, contributing to the development of the EV ecosystem. They have developed batteries compatible with various electric motorcycle brands, offering universal swapping through collaboration with local electric motorcycle manufacturers. In this project, Swap & Go introduces special battery-swapping packages, allowing public motorcycle taxi drivers, Phiwins to swap batteries at conveniently located stations within the project’s target areas. They are also expanding service stations to make it easier for drivers to access and provide long-distance passenger services seamlessly in the future.

Ms. Yeonju Jeong, representing the SOLUTIONSPlus fund, reinforced that this project aims to further support the pricing of electric motorcycles, in addition to the government’s backing. The goal is to introduce 30 electric motorcycle taxis, pioneering the use of electric motorcycles in the economic hub of Bangkok. This aligns with the objectives of the Urban Electric Mobility Initiative (UEMI), which aims to support the transition to electric vehicles, especially in urban areas with dense air pollution. The initiative encourages urban residents to opt for more efficient public transportation systems, focusing on first and last-mile travel options. This aims to enhance the quality of life for city dwellers, reduce air pollution, and minimize noise pollution.

2. What are the capabilities of these e-motorcycles with swappable batteries?

In collaboration with world-class brand Tailg (www.tailg.com over 12 motorcycles sold annually), Stallions Motor provided Dragon. With motor specs of 3000 Watts and a large yet sturdy frame body structure, it can load up to 150 kilograms in weight while still providing comfort for both riders and passengers. This is the first E-motorcycle model in Thailand that can be legally registered with the Department of Transportation as a public transportation (yellow license plate). Dragon had undergone 2 years of practical testing by motorcycle taxis and delivery drivers. It is extremely well-received, reliable, and secure with CBS brake system. In addition, our motor is flood wadable and insured for 3 years or 30,000 kilometers.

The goal of this partnership between STALLIONS (STL Group) and Swap & Go is to improve Battery Ecosystem & Infrastructure while increasing the number of E-motorcycles usage, introducing world-class innovation onto Thailand’s streets. With common passions and interests, DOTS studio and STALLIONS teamed up to create an electric transportation project call TANYA.

The new concept for an electric transportation platform brings users a motorcycle lover’s experience that goes beyond transportation to passion.

Like Bangkok, cities in around the world face limitations on public transport that have forced the use of private cars. These limits have made motorcycles very popular in Southeast Asia.

With the environment and energy consumption a concern, the automotive industry has had to invent ways to make environment-friendly vehicles that maintain a balance with style and design thinking. Electricity powered motorcycles are one solution. These motorcycles coincide with the electric vehicles now replacing fossil fuel based cars and are responsive to the BCG concept.

DOTS studio and STALLIONS created a platform of motorcycles that can meet the requirements of everyday life as well as the lifestyle requirements of riders. Based on insights into riders, the motorcycles serve basic functions while also giving users the “cool” appearance that attracted them to riding.

CAKE signs Significant Distribution Deal with Premium Distributor Stallions Motor in Thailand.

The Swedish manufacturer of lightweight, premium electric motorcycles, CAKE, today announced a significant partnership in Thailand with leading motorcycle dealer and manufacturer, Stallions Motor (STL Group Holdings Co., Ltd), marking substantial contract signing. The partnership will leverage Stallions Motor’s half-century of experience and robust network encompassing manufacturing, distribution, sales, and branding, serving notable motorcycle brands over the years.

Accelerating further and in line with ongoing expansion in North American and European cities, this deal signifies the next step in CAKE’s distribution strategy for the Asian market.
